I focus on the rock formations, the trees, the shorelines, and most often, the quarries of Rockport & Cape Ann. Much of Rockport's history and attraction is found in how it reflects the 'Cape Ann Light' - the gleam upon the Atlantic's water & shoreline, a reflection which makes artist, native or visitor sit up straight and take note that this is a special moment under special light. What do I do? Not very much in the manner of arrangement or planning, rather making myself available to And so these are photgraphs after a time. Transcripts of conversations not 'taking' photographs. But rather repeated treks back to vistas, to watch and to wait as surfaces warm & cool to the light. Much as sitting by an elderly person who warms to the conversation & proffers wisdom in a seemingly casual fashion. After a time that is. We would like to think ourselves permanent and immense. Trees, granite, the seashore & light have a lot to say about that..
